There is an entry for Loughborough [variant spelling] in the Domesday survey [http://opendomesday.org/place/SK5319/loughborough/] [accessed 18 August 2015], but it mentions neither cleric nor church in it. A font here is noted and illustrated in Upcott (1818). Described in Pevsner (1984): "Font. A strange heavily moulded and partly fluted octagonal piece, possibly Elizabethan. Font cover contemporary? Big scrolly buttresses surround a central square arcaded space."
