Illustrated in Gestoso y Pérez (1919). Hernández Perera (1952) points out that the basin of the baptismal font at La Laguna [cf. Index entry for La Laguna No. 1] has decorative motifs similar to those on the font from this 'ermita': discs, stars and acorns. The font, made of glazed ceramic, consists of a hemispherica basin raised on a circular pedestal base; the upper rim sides are decorated with a triple moulding simulating a Franciscan cingulum; below it are dozens of small symbols (IHS, acorn, human figure, fleur-de-lis, etc.), and another cingulum about half-way down, with some larger palmettes (?) on the underbowl; the cylindrical stem has mouldings at both ends, and the surface between is completely covered in motifs and symbols. Like the font at La Laguna, and other ceramic fonts made in Seville but exported to the Canary Islands listed in this Index, it is probably dated from the end of the 15th century. The font is now fitted with a reinforcing metal band just below the rim.
