There is an entry for this Loddington [variant spelling] in the Domesday survey [http://opendomesday.org/place/SK7902/loddington/] [accessed 18 August 2015], but it mentions neither cleric nor church in it. A font here is noted and illustrated in Upcott (1818). The entry for this church in English Heritage [Listing NGR: SK7862402003] (1966) reports: "Font may be Early English, round with no differentiation between base and bowl and recessed lancet decoration." Described in Pevsner (1984): "Font. Tub-shaped; no doubt C13. It is an odd design, with eight tall arches with continuous moulding."
