De La Maza (1959), in his description of the baptistery, mentions "sus preciosas pilas de tecali" [=its beautiful tecali fonts [NB: the word 'pila' can mean both font (pila bautismal) and stoup (pila de agua bendita)]]. The entry in the Puebla web site [www.ipsonet.org/cholula/iglesias/otras.html] [accessed 27 September 2006] mentions an ancient holy-water stoup, perhaps 16th-century, in the church of San Pedro Mexicaltzingo.
