Baptismal font, probably from the time of the consecration of the church itself (1846) consisting of a hexagonal basin, plain but for a scotia all round the lower basin sides, raised on a hexagonal stem with a moulding ath the lower end as the only decoration. The local web site [http://web.onetel.net.uk/~gedburnell/fairburnstjames.htm] notes: "The font is rather simple, raised on a high plinth [?], is hexagonal and has a huge wooden lid and a pulley attachment with a counter-balancing weight. Unfortunately this is no longer used."
