Noted in Glynne's 19 April 1869 visit to this church, (in Butler, 2007): "The font is very small", without further indication of shape or date. The present font is modern, consisting of an octagonal basin with plain sides, raised on a slender shaft and lower base, both circular, and a square plinth. This font is probably 19th-century. Pyramidal octagonal wooden cover; date unknown. [cf. Index entry for Sand Hutton, St. Leonard's, for a Norman font reported in the other Sand Hutton, WSW of Thirsk, in this county]
