Font Notes:
There is an entry for [Cold] Overtone [variant spelling] in the Domesday survey [https://opendomesday.org/place/SK8110/cold-overton/] [accessed 12 December 2019]; it reports a priest, but not a church in it, though there must have been one there. Pesvner (1984) notes: "Font. A stone baluster said, in 1842, to be new." The entry for this church in Historic England [Listing NGR: SK8102410152] notes: "Parish church. C13, C14, C15, and c.1800. Restored by J. T. Micklethwaite, 1889. [...] Fluted font on baluster stem,1842." [NB: the fabric of the church goes back to the Early English period, but we have no information on the earlier font(s) of this church]
