The Victoria County History (Lancashire, 1907) notes in the entry for Wigan: "A font dating from c. 1710, removed from the church in 1850 is now in St. George's church". In Pevsner (1969): "Font. Of the baluster type, c.1710. It comes from All Saints." The English Heritage listing entry for this church [Listing NGR: SD5848405959] [www.britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/en-485003-church-of-st-george-] [accessed 16 July 2014] has: "The rector of Wigan reports that it was entirely gutted by fire, none of the original remaining". [cf. Index entry for Wigan No. 1 for the original Decorated font from All Saints reported in a garden ca. 1907]
