Font Notes:
No font mentioned in Glynne (1877). Newman (1980) notes only the font cover: "Perp[endicular], of wood, just ogee in profile and with crockets up the ribs and an octagonal finial." The West Farleigh site [www.westfarleigh.org.uk] informs that the present font was replaced between 1300 and 1400. Noted and illustrated in the Roughwood British Churches Album [http://www.roughwood.net/ChurchAlbum/Kent/WestFarleigh/West-Farleigh-All-Saints.htm] [accessed 15 February 2010]. The font is octagonal, with plain sides curving at the plain underbowl, on an octagonal stem dcorated only with two thin mouldings; the lower base is splayed; also octagonal. The wooden cover is a medium-height dome with crocketed arrises and floral (?) finial. The font is now located in the northeast corner of the nave, just west of the chancel arch, probably not its original position.
