Noted in Newman (1980): "Font. 1906. Soapy white marble. Typical of its date." Noted and illustrated in the Roughwood British Churches Album [http://www.roughwood.net/ChurchAlbum/Kent/TunbridgeWells/TunWellsKingCharles2005.htm] [accessed 15 February 2010]: "There is an inscription on the wall above [the font] which reads: "To the Glory of God, this font is erected by Martha Annabella in loving memory of her devoted husband the Revd Francis Harrison Wright MA who entered to his rest 2nd Septe 1906 aged 75 years." The font consists of an octagonal basin decorated with cherubs on the sides, raised on eight outer colonnettes with capitals and bases; on a two-step plinth, also of marble.
