Described in Glynne (1877): "The font has an octagonal bowl, on a circular stem, decorated with new illuminations." Octagonal basin with verticals sides showing a large motif on each, very faded, perhaps re-tooled? chamfered underbowl; plain cylindrical stem; square lower base. The font or parts of it could be 13th century. A recent photograph [2002] of this font may be found in the Kent Archaeological Society web site [www.kentarchaeology.org.uk]
