Described in Glynne (1877): "The font is attached to the west pier of the nave, its bowl is square, chamfered at the angles, the stem cylindrical with four short legs at the angles, upon a square plinth." Torr (1930) writes: "Of Norman date, the fonts at [...] Higham, West Peckham and Wouldham [...] may serve as examples of the [...] plain type". Noted in Newman (1980): "Font. Square bowl with chamfered corners, on five circular shafts. Probably no earlier than the C13."
