Thehere is a multiple-place entry for Barmby [on the Marsh] [variant spelling] in the Domesday survey [https://opendomesday.org/place/SE6928/barmby-on-the-marsh/] [accessed 23 October 2019]; it reports a priest and a church in it. The entry for this church in Historic England [Listing NGR: SE6901628433] notes: "Church. c1600 nave. C18 tower, C19 chancel"; no font mentioned. Baptismal font consisting of an octagonal basin with plain vertical sides, raised on an octagonal cabinet-like wooden base; the basin itself is difficult to date, probably medieval, anywhere betwenn the 13th and 15th centuries? The odd base, which probably hides the original pedestal, is of a later date, as is the flat octagonal cover, wooden with metal decoration and handle.
