A second baptismal font -this one no longer in use- kept inside St. Augustine's, perhaps the predecessor of the later font [cf. Index entry for Hedon No. 1]. This one is chalice shaped, also of eight sides, the basin decorated with trefoil arches within pointed arches and a large motif or symbol within (leaf, cross, fleur-de-lis, boat?, etc.); the splaying base is also octagonal and has a centre ring moulding. This font shows clear signs of ill-use, damage and repairs; the large hole made in one of the sides indicates that it was probably used as a garden or farm trough, and the surface is very weathered.
