There is an entry for Elloughton [variant spelling] in the Domesday survey [https://opendomesday.org/place/SE9428/elloughton/] [accessed 28 June 2025]; it reports a priest and a church in it. Octagonal mounted baptismal font with graded sides decorated with parallel mouldings. The upper part of the font appears either new, or, more likely, newly-cut and re-tooled, to judge by the presence of old metal staples in the upper rim of th basin; even the inside of the basin has been re-done. The church itself is medieval, though rebuilt in the 19th century, with a 13th-century (?) south portal and a medieval tower.
