Noted in Newman (1976): "Font. Dated 1749." The Parish web [http://st.peterschurch.org.uk] has: "beautiful marble font [...] John Dekewer of Hackney [...] gave it in 1749." The 18th-century font consists of an octagonal basin mounted on a baluster-type stem and narrow base (the date is probably inscribed on the font, although neither source states so [NB: the original fabric of this church dates from ca. 1128 (?) or 1180 (?) but we have no information on the earlier font(s) of this church]
