Font Notes:
There are two entries for this Brandon [variant spelling] in the Domesday survey [https://opendomesday.org/place/SK9048/brandon/] neither of which mentions church or priest in it. Pevsner, Harris and Antram (1989) write: "Font. Norman, plain, circular." Listed in the Historic Churches Preservation Trust (Recent Grants report of 16 March 2006) as a Norman font. Described and illustrated in the CRSBI [www.crsbi.ac.uk/view-item?i=13513] [accessed 28 July 2021]: "Located at the W end of the nave on the axis with the centre aisle. Plain drum font on a very worn chamfered base composed of five separate pieces of stone. A large portion of stone is missing from the N lip and some mortar repair is evident on the S lip. Lead-lined; centre drain."
