There is an entry for this Weston [variant spelling] in the Domesday survey [http://opendomesday.org/place/TL2530/weston/] [accessed 18 October 2016]; it mentions two priests but not a church in it, though there probably was one there. The Royal Commission on Historical Monuments, Hertfordshire (1911) reports: "Font: octagonal, with quatrefoil panels on the moulded bowl, moulded and panelled stem; 15th century." The Victoria County Council (Hertford, vol. 3, 1912) notes: "The church of the Holy Trinity at Weston was given to the Knights Templars by Gilbert de Clare Earl of Pembroke at some date previous to 1148 and was confirmed to them by William Marshal Earl of Pembroke, one of his successors. [...] The original cruciform church of the 12th century is now represented by the north transept, central tower and nave, and there are traces of a north chapel to the east of the transept. The south aisle, south porch and clearstory were added in the 15th century [...] The font is of the 15th century also, and is octagonal. The sides of the bowl, which is moulded, have quatrefoiled panels, and the stem is also moulded and panelled." In Pevsner & Cherry (1977): "Font. Octagonal, Perp[endicular], with quatrefoil panels."
