Holy-water stoup noted in the Royal Commission on Historical Monuments (Essex, 1916-1923): "In nave--E. of S. doorway, recess with cinquefoiled head and broken bowl, 14th or 15th-century." [NB: the RCHM does not mention a baptismal font in this church -the RCHM does not list post-1714 objects- but notes that parts of the church go as far back as the 11th century]. The Parish website [http://www.stmaryscorringham.org.uk/welcome.htm] [accessed 21 June 2010] illustrates the modern polygonal font. [NB: we have no information on the earlier font(s) of this church]
