The Ecclesiastical and Architectural Topography of England: Oxfordshire (1850) notes: "The font is plain, round, seems to be E[arly] E[nglish]." The basin of the current font at Longcot appears to be originally from the early church here; it has been re-cut from the earlier font; the octagonal moulded stem is modern, as is the plinth. The re-cutting must have occurred after 1850
