The 'Enciclopedia de los pueblos de México' [www.e-local.gob.mx] [accessed 21 May 2006] includes an illustration captioned "Pila bautismal de la Parroquia de Otumba" that shows two objects, presumably the baptismal font and a holy-water stoup; the former is a large cylindrical basin raised on a squat lower base, the sides of the basin framed between a thick rope moulding at the top rim and a thick moulding with the knot-like patterns of these Mexican fonts, and large floral motifs in between; the wooden font cover is roughly conical with a moulded finial. [cf. Index entry for Otumba No. 2 for a large holy-water stoup for this church]
