Font Notes:
Noted in the Royal Commission on Historical Monuments (Essex, 1916-1923): "Stoup: In S. porch--with moulded jambs and cinquefoiled head, bowl cut away, late 15th-century." The present baptismal font, an octagonal basin raised on a broad central shaft and eight slender colonnettes is modern probably 19th-century [NB: we have no information on the medieval font]
