Noted in the Royal Commission on Historical Monuments (Essex, 1916-1923): "Stoup: In S. wall--E. of S. doorway, rough stone basin, partly broken, in rough triangular-headed recess, probably early 16th-century." [NB: the RCHM does not lists objects later than 1714; it notes that the nave is probably dated to the first half of the 12th century -- The church was restored in 1879 by Sir Arthur Blomfield according to www.essexchurches.info, and the new font [not listed in this Index] is probably from that period -- We have no information on the early font(s) of this church]
