Noted in the Royal Commission on Historical Monuments (Essex, 1916-1923): "Stoup: In porch--very crude four-centred head, front of basin cut away, early 16th-century" [NB: the RCHM notes that the nave "is of pre-Conquest date, and was built probably in the first half of the 11th century" and does not list a font, which probably means that the original font has disappeared]
