The entry for Stebbing in the Royal Commission on Historical Monuments (Essex, 1916-1923) notes: "Stoup: In S. porch--In E. wall, with pointed head and broken basin, probably early 16th-century." The entry for this church in Historic England [Listing NGR: TL6639424004] notes: "Church mainly circa 1360 with later restorations [...] There is a C14 Piscina with moulded trefoil head and label and basin [...] Font Octagonal, with plain bowl, moulded at base and cusped panelled stem. C16 Stoup in South Porch with pointed head and broken basin probably C16."
