The entry for this church in the Royal Commission on Historical Monuments (Essex, 1916-1923) notes: "Font; octagonal bowl with ogee-headed panels, panelled stem, possibly late 15-th century." The entry for this church in Historic England [Listing NGR: TL6861326514] notes: "Parish Church. C14. Said to have been unfinished at the time of the Black Death 1348-9. Consecrated and Chancel added 1380. C17-C20 alterations and additions. [...] Late C15 octagonal Font with ogee headed panels and panelled stem." [NB: the present font appears to have been re-cut or re-tooled]
