There are twelve entries for Tolleshunt [D'Arcy, Knights and Major] in the Domesday survey [https://opendomesday.org/place/XX0000/tolleshunt-darcy-knights-and-major/] [accessed 24 June 2025]; none of them mention priest or church in it. Geldart (1899) illustrates a rose that "appears on three sides of the font in Tolleshunt D'Arcy, in Essex." Noted in the Royal Commission on Historical Monuments (Essex, 1916-1923): "Font: In Chancel--square tapering bowl, of Barnack stone, sides each with two square traceried panels; late 14th-century panelling probably cut on earlier bowl." In Pevsner (1976): "Font. Late C14, square with traceried panels." Bettely & Pevsner (2007) report that All Saints' "ceased to be a parish in 1957" and was later "reordered for the Eastern Orthodox Community"; they do not mention a font in it..
