Noted in Suckling (1846-1848): "The font is octangular, ornamented with shields in its compartments charged with the symbols of the Trinity, and the Passion of our Lord". In Parker (1855). Noted and illustrated in Knott (2008?) as "a good example of the typical East Anglian design". The font consists of an octagonal basin of certical sides decorated with two deeply-carved sets of motifs: four angels holding shields with the emblems mentioned in Suckling above, and the other four panels with the symbols of the Evangelists; the upper level of the underbowl chamfer has cherubs at the angles with the wings spreading over the sides, while the lower level has a square flower on each side; the stem is plain, as is the octagonal plinth.
