The entry for Langenhoe [variant spelling] in the Domesday survey [https://opendomesday.org/place/TM0117/langenhoe/] [accessed 26 July 2023] has two entries, neither of wich mentions a church in it; one of the entries gives "Engelric (the priest)" as being lord in 1066, replaced by Count Eustace of Boulogne in 1086. The Royal Commission on Historical Monuments (Essex, 1916-1923) notes: "Font: octagonal bowl, each side with a quatrefoiled panel, enclosing a flower, octagonal stem with sunk panels having cinquefoiled heads, moulded base, 15th-century." In Pevsner (1976): "Font. Perp[endicular], octagonal, with panels with flowers in quatrefoils."
[NB: the church od St Mary in Langenhoe was demolished in 1962]
