There are six entries for [Great and Little] Parndon in the Domesday survey [http://opendomesday.org/place/XX0000/great-and-little-parndon/] [accessed 7 June 2018], none of which mentions priest or church in it. The Royal Commission on Historical Monuments (Essex, 1916-1923) reports: "Font: octagonal bowl, each face with quatrefoiled panel enclosing floral boss, lower edge moulded and enriched with flowers; octagonal stem each face with cusped panels in two stages divided by an embattled transom, 15th-century." In Pevsner (1976): "Font. Perp[endicular], octagonal, with traceried stem and a bowl decorated with quatrefoils carrying roses." The Victoria County History (Essex, vol. 8, 1983) notes: "There were several references to priests at Parndon in the late 12th and the early 13th century, but it is not clear whether they served Great or Little Parndon. [...] Great Parndon was certainly a separate parish by 1254 [...] In 1957 the ecclesiastical parish of Great Parndon was altered to comprise the southern parts of the ancient parishes of Great Parndon and Little Parndon and a small part of Netteswell. [...] The octagonal font dates from the 15th century." The font is rather on the thin side; the chamfer of the underbowl is graded with rose motifs on the sides; the lower base is moulded. Interesting wooden font cover with a sculpted scene.
