Noted in Ghislain (1986) [after Zimmermann (1954?)]. Catalogued and illustrated in Ghislain (2009) as a baptismal font of the Namurois group, filiation Beauvechain, made of limestone (calcaire de Meuse) ca. 1155-1160; the basin is round and plain except for four protruding human heads at 90-degree angles; the heads are: 1)head in 'camail' (a hood of armour), wearing a flat round crown with an inscription identifying the person as St. George; only the eyes and now are visible outside the camail; 2)female wearing crown with cross and beads on it; 3)male, bearded, moustache pointing upwards, wearing crown with cross and beads; 4)male head with thick moustache and a beard that wraps down the underbowl into teo separate curls; wearing a head-band; the round stem is a modern replacement in poured concrete; the lower base has the usual moulding all around and complex leaf motifs at the corners. Ghislain (ibid.) remarks on detail similarities with the fonts at Soulme, Daussois, Heel, Chéreng and Oplinter, and further notes that the font must have been an indivualised order for this church, the patron of which is Sint Joris, Saint George.
