Noted and illustrated as a baptismal font of the 16th century in the web site of L'Église de Wauthier-Braine [www.braine-le-chateau.org/pages/eglisewb.htm], but identified as a holy-water stoup in the BALaT database, KIK-IRPA, Brussels (Belgium) [no. 10026727]. The position of this object at the west end of the nave, in the centre of the aisle, as well as the existence of a baptismal font in the church, confirm its use as stoup; it consists of a moulded octagonal basin raised on a thin moulded pedestal base and a splaying lower base of the same shape. The church site above notes that, though originally a font, it is now used as a holy-water stoup. [cf. Index entry for Wauthier-Braine No. 1 for the 12th-century font in this church]
