There is an entry for [Long] Eaton [variant spelling] in the Domesday survey [https://opendomesday.org/place/SK4933/long-eaton/] [accessed 23 September 2020] but it mentions neither priest nor church in it. Pevsner (1978) writes: "Font by Street" [NB: it refers to George Edmund Street (1824-1881) reknowned Victorian architect]. The entry for this church in Historic England [Listing NGR: SK4915833736] notes: "Parish church. C12, C14 and C15, rebuilt in 1868 by G E Street [...] C19 stone font has moulded circular stem and bowl with cusped blind panelling, also wooden cover." [NB: the fabric of the church goes back to the 12th century but we have no information on the earlier font(s) of this church].
