The entry for this village in Emiliano Nebreda Perdiguero [www.archiburgos.es/wp-content/uploads/amo-a-mi-pueblo.pdf] [accessed 13 November 2021] notes: "Contaba con dos barrios [...] Al tener dos barrios, tenía también dos iglesias, que siguen vigentes. [...] Santa María. Es románica [...] la pila de bautismo es de piscina, cuadrada y lisa". Described and illustrated in the Enciclopedia del románico en Castilla y León (2002-): a large square basin plain except for a narrow chamfer on the inside of the upper rim; mounted on a modern squat base; the upper rim still shows the hardware to secure the old font cover. This same source points out that most of its outer surface has been re-tooled, and gives the fonts at Castil de Lences, Grisaleña, Bortedo and Cernégula as cognates.
