Noted in Bagshaw (1846): "The font is a fine specimen of Derbyshire spar, dated 1750, with a fluted column and bowl." Kelly's Directory of 1881 notes similarly and locates the font under the tower. In Pevsner (1978) as a baptismal font ca. 1720 [NB: the tower and the south aisle are dated to the 13th century but we have no information on the earlier font of this 17th-century church]
