Noted in Kroesen & Steensma (2004) as a font of Baumberg sandstone with an upper frieze of fabulous animals and a vine, similar to the one in Rastede "and they both perhaps come from the same workshop [...] In Hohenkirchen, however, there are no more arches and the scenes are consecutive: the Annunciation, the Three Magi, the Baptism of Christ and the two patron saints of the church, St. Sixtus and St. Sinicius. The bowl is resting on three protruding lions, one of whom has a human being in its jaws; the three of them have rolled scrolls in their paws." A notable detail of this font is the way the Baptism of Christ is represented, with John touching the side of Christ's head. Also worthy of remark are the beatifully flowing representation of the Adoration, the faces of the figures. etc. Wooden cover said to be of the late-17th century, the work of Hinrich Cröpelin from Esens.
