Font Notes:
There are two entries for Wragle [variant spellings] in the Domesday survey [https://opendomesday.org/place/TF4250/wrangle/] [accessed 22 June 2025] neither of which mentions priest or church in it. Described in Gough (1792): "octagon, with plain square compartments on a fluted shaft, and the three steps with the raised one at the West side as at East Dereham." [NB: Gough has 'Wrange'].. Allen (1833) quotes Gough practically verbatim, and adds: "This font is said to have been erected in 1468 and to have cost £12 13s. 9d.", which he footnotes as information from Archaeologia (vol. X: 198).
