There is an entry for Sedgebrook [variant spelling] in the Domesday survey [https://opendomesday.org/place/SK8537/sedgebrook/] [accessed 13 May 2019] but it mentions neither cleric nor church in it. Gough (1792) reports an early font "on a round shaft." Described in Pevsner, Harris and Antram (1989): "Octagonal, Norman, with heavily scalloped underside, eight scallops together." Noted and illustrated in the CRSBI (2019) as an octagonal mounted baptismal font of the Romanesque period, probably dating from the second half of the 12th century. The CRSBI reports damage and repairs to the font and also missing pieces "near the top of the lip".
