Font Notes:
Baptismal font, probably medieval, of very crude design, consisting of a round upper block, the upper half of which is cylindrical, but from mid-way down it tapers in; it is raised on a cylindrical block; the whole object looks makeshift, as if the parts did not belong together, likely the work of a not very dexterous local mason following no particular design. Thick wooden cover: a plank is attached to the wall, on which is hinged the cover proper. The awful blue paint in which the font is covered coulld not be said to have added charm to the object. The font is awkwardly mounted into a corner (NW?) at the back of the nave, behind the confessional. [cf. Index entry for Barcia No. 2 for a large holy-water stoup in the same church]
