The Builder (issue of 22 January 1870: 73) reports: "There is a Perpendicular font near the entrance, which is by the south porch, and this has been furbished up so as to present a uniform appearance with the rest of the building." The Dorset Historic Churches Trust [http://dorsethistoricchurchestrust.co.uk/silton.htm] has an illustration of a Victorian-looking font in this church; the object appears octagonal, with a goblet-shaped overall design; this must be the 15th-century font refurbished ca. 1870 and reported in The Builder [cf. supra]. [NB: a church on this site is believed to have existed since Norman tiimes [perhaps even Saxon] but we have no information on the earlier font of this church]
