Noted in the 3rd ed. of Hutchins (1973): "The font is a good Perpendicular example; the bowl octagonal with panelled panels." Mee (1939) reports a baptismal font from before the Great Armada in this church. This font is not mentioned in The Dorset Historic Churches Trust [jttp://dorsethistoricchurchestrust.co.uk/worth_matravers.htm], instead the Trust notes a baptismal font of the mid-19th century [1864] rebuilding is noted for this church in The Dorset . [NB: the fabric of the original church goes back to Norman (and Saxon?) times]
