The baptismal font now in Korskirken is a modern one, made of soapstone in the 29th century; designed in the rough shape of the old 'table-top' type: square basin with round inner well, raised on a broad central shaft and four outer colonnettes with decorated capitals and base mouldings; round-to-square lower base. The Victorian period in England produced many of these fonts, quite a few of them in the Yorkshires. [NB: a church is reported in this site since the late 12th century, probably a wooden one; we have no information on the earlier font(s) from this church].
