There is a 1773 pencil-on-paper drawing of the font at Holy Trinity Fleet by Samuel Hieronymus Grimm (1733-1794) in the British Library collections [Shelfmark: Additional MS 15537 - Item number: f.126]. The font is noted in the 3rd ed. of Hutchins (1973 c1861-1874): "a plain octagon, without ornament." Listed in Long (1923) as a baptismal font of the Perpendicular period. Noted in Mee (1939). The Dorset Historic Churches Trust [http://dorsethistoricchurchestrust.co.uk/cerneabbas.htm] notes the 1963 font cover.
