Kelly's Directory of Somerset 1883 reports a Norman font in this church. Listed in Long (1923) as a baptismal font of the Norman period. Mee (1939) notes "a curious old font shaped like a tumbler, girdled by a rope." In Newman & Pevsner (1972): "Font. Norman, circular, bowl and stem in one, of tapering shape.
