Listed in Long (1923) as a baptismal font of the Decorated period. The Dorset Historic Churches Trust [http://dorsethistoricchurchestrust.co.uk/nether_compton.htm] illustrates a much-repaired font that appears medieval: octagonal basin with plain sides and curved underbowl raised on a polygonal stem and quadrangular lower base.
