Baldotto & Paolillo (2004) report a stone baptismal font [="un battistero di pietra"] in the old church of the mission at Nuestra Señora de Yapeyú, then in the Provincia del Paraguay [part of Argentina now]; the same source notes that the church and all its furnishings were destroyed as a result of the Portuguese invasion of 1817. Bollini (2009), though, informs that in the excavations carried out in the 1970s a number of objects where unearthed, among which a large fragment of the basin of the baptismal font, which he illustrates: the fragment appears to correspond to the underbowl of a hemispherical basin and is decorated with large ribs below thick mouldings; most of the sides proper are missing. The location of the fragment is given as the "museo sanmartiniano y en el complejo 'Guillermo Furlong'".
