We found no entry for this Lillington in the Domesday survey. The font in this church is noted in Long (1923) as a "good specimen" of the enriched octagonal font of the Perpendicular period, in this case "with shields and Tudor roses.In Newman & Pevsner (1972): "Font. Perp[endicular], octagonal, with shields and flowers in quatrefoils. -- Font cover. Modest; C17." In The Dorset Historic Churches Trust [http://dorsethistoricchurchestrust.co.uk/lillington.htm]: "The octagonal font is late 15C and has quatrefoil panels on each face, which alternately enclose shields and roses; the wood cover is 17C."
