Font Notes:
Noted in the 3rd ed. of Hutchins (1973 c1861-1874): "The font has a plain circular bowl, supported by a stem on a square stone base." Long (1923) describes the font at Hammoon: "has a plain round bowl and shaft, and is of very uncertain date." Listed in The Dorset Historic Churches Trust web page [http://dorsethistoricchurchestrust.co.uk/holnest.htm] as a baptismal font of the 13th century; the basin and base, both cylindrical, are almost plain, but for a moulding decoration. It appears disused, its basin well serving as vase or planter; the whole exterior of the font is painted green; the font is located inside the church.
