A holy-water stoup still survives among the ruins of the old ruined church of St. Mary, and it is illustrated by Michael Day [www.bath.ac.uk/~lismd/dorset/churches/east-stoke.html]. The Dorset Historic Churches Trust [http://dorsethistoricchurchestrust.co.uk/eaststoke.htm] notes that the "building of 1828 [...] replaced a much earlier 13C structure, which had been badly sited lower down in the water meadows and was prone to damp." The wall-mounted stoup is still visible in Day's illustration.
