There are two entries for Ilkley [variant spellings] in the Domesday survey [http://opendomesday.org/place/SE1147/ilkley/] [accesed 30 October 2018], each of which reports a priest and a church in it. Noted in Mee (1941): "font under a projecting canopy richly carved with tracery and vine, and crowned with four angels" [NB: the font is probably of the same period as the church renovation, the 19th century]. [cf. Index entry for Ilkley No. 1 for the old font and cover from St. Margaret's, now [June 2009] at nearby Ben Rhydding St. John's]
